Say A Prayer For Peter Rosenberg, Please

IMG_0455

I feel so bad. I so should not have started this.

Some of you may know about my past issues with Peter Rosenberg, the hackjob radio personality ruining currently co-hosting the Hip Hop morning radio show at New York’s Hot 97. I used to be a big fan of Hot 97, back when they had Star and Buc Wild. Since then, the show has gotten progressively worse. I used to hate the Big Boy morning show earlier this year, I even made some noise about it and before I knew it, he left. Rosenberg is so effin bad that I’m secretly wishing Big Boy would come back.

So yesterday, while driving my kids to school, I was listening to Hot 97. I usually flip between the news channel (1010 WINS am), liberal talk radio host Errol Louis on WWRL 1600am, or Hot 97 fm, especially when the kids wanna hear rap music. So I’m listening to Hot 97, knowing full well that Rosenberg is gonna say some stupid shit, like he does every morning (I know, silly me) when he goes into this rant about why and how New Yorkers were allowing Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi to speak at the UN General Assembly, how we should be up in arms about getting this “terrorist killer” unceremoniously tossed out of the country with the quickness. Now I know Gaddafi ain’t no saint, most of these heads of state aren’t, but what got my goat was how Rosenberg had the audacity to try and turn a simple Hip Hop morning show into an extended voice in furthering whatever types of political agenda he subscribes to. Cats dropping their kids off and children going to school tune into Hot 97 to hear the latest news, gossip and going ons of their favorite rappers and entertainment personalities, not get duped into getting recruited into a sole person’s political crusade.

Being the concerned parent I am and because I’m for the kids in general like that, I twittered Mr. Rosenberg a simple tweet (if you’re still not on Twitter, please go home and swallow a chilled glass of Drano with a slice of lime):

@Rosenbergradio Khadafy is a human being and a head of state. All humans need to be respected. Stop tryna push ur Pudge Nubby-ish agendas.

I know, I get humanist like that from time to time.

He responded by claiming how Khadafy (I know, mispelling dude’s name is so disrespectful) had killed innocent children, I responded with how Israel itself had been responsible for the murder of innocent children this very year, Rosenberg replied with:6a00d8341c558f53ef0120a591a8d7970b-500wi

Wtf? How did we go from having a friendly round of politic talk to dude threatening me and bringing my “innocent” kids into this? Not trying to take this to the streets, I made several inquiries as to what I should do. Personally, my first reaction would have had me heading over to Hot 97’s station to knuckle up, but my cooler self prevailed. Black man accosting a white man in front of that station = white man being victimized and Black man doing time, looking all evil and what not in the press. I did not want to end up locked up like my homie Dallas Penn did last weekend. I’m smarter than that (not smarter than Dallas, smarter than getting myself all twisted up with how these laws aren’t just and fair when it comes to how its racially distributed). I remembered how my dude Star got  arrested and fired for making threatening remarks while he was an on-air personality at Hot 97 a few years ago and inquired as to how I could legally handle this dude.  I stepped back though, especially since Byron Crawford beat me to the punch by posting Rosenberg’s hateful tweet yesterday over on his site. Plus, I wanted to be clear that if I got Peter fired, subconsciously it would be for him making a violent threat against me and possibly my kids as opposed to me overreacting as to how bad he is on the morning show and adding to making my daily driving of said kids to school that much more painful.

I had alot of things to do yesterday, like running errands, business issues and getting ready to attend the VH1 Hip Hop Honors celebrating Def Jam’s 25th anniversary when Peter started sending me several private Direct Messages, begging asking me to work things out with him behind closed doors. I guess he realized his very public and dangerous threat wasn’t a wise move and wanted to keep his job, but like I said, I was busy and hadn’t had a chance to thoughtfully respond to his cowardly kind attempts to reconcile our differences.

I had a great time at the Hip Hop Honors which was held in Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music. I got up this morning once again to drive my kids. Tuning in to Hot 97 yet again (I know, glutton for punishment) today, I listened in amazement at how Peter was uncharacteristically going on and on about how racism of any form is a very bad thing. I thought this was very unusual because anyone who listens in on that show knows how reckless Peter and his privileged self gets with making racist off color remarks. And on the regular. Checking in on Twitter again, I was greeted by yet another attack, this one being crazier than anything dude’s ever sent my way: 6a00d8341c558f53ef0120a595a14b970b-500wi

Once again, wtf?!? I went from being physically threatened and having my kids possibly being placed in harm’s way to being branded an anti-semite by the very same dude who had tough talk then tried to protect his job by secretly reaching out to me to shake hands and play friends? I got worried, a bit scared too. I only sparred with Rosenberg on account of how privileged he came off on hip hop radio. That and how badly he sucks. I confess that I did want to expose dude as the hack he is, but in no way was it my intention for him to have to suffer a very public and serious mental breakdown because of my toying with him.

Now I know Byron Crawford, friend to the room, has a whole other set of issues with Peter, accusing him and his family of being involved with all sorts of insidious political plots and what not. So it’s only natural that him posting Rosenberg’s hate tweet would generate some hateful comments over on his comments section. That’s Byron, he’s a hater for the people like that. How Peter tried to pull me in while pulling out the race card at first seemed like he was desperately reaching for straws on some more cowardly shit. But in reflecting on his cowardly acts, I realized that the combined pressure of him fighting to become relevant in a high pressured position at Hot 97, Byron going deeply in on him [||] over on his site on some other shit and me effortless exposing him as the lame fraud he is must be way too much for him. Obviously being weak minded, it’s become so clear to me that Peter Rosenberg has finally lost his marbles and is going plain crazy. Mental illness is not something any of us should ever take too lightly.

Having compassion for crazy people, I did suggest to him (via Twitter) that he seek medical help, but you know how crazy people do, they NEVER follow good advice. Thinking more about his plight, it occurred to me that dude might even be suicidal in his current delicate state. Now those who know me know I LOVE the art of battle, especially with words and wit, but I would never want to see any harm come to those I ether, especially in the form of suicide. Plus, haven’t we all suffered experiencing too many tragic deaths of our beloved celebrities and personalities this year? Not that Peter is beloved, nor a celebrity, but I’m not trying to have anyone else’s blood on my hands. I’ve got enough problems of my own.

So friends, in taking responsibility for whatever harm I may have caused, I ask that we all pray for the well being of Peter Rosenberg. If any of you know him personally, I would even suggest placing him under some sort of suicide watch or what not, behind his back though. You know how crazy does when they feel you’re watching them. And if any of you happen to see him out in public talking too himself, or looking all depressed and forlorn, call the authorities. Quick.  I’ma do my part in praying for dude’s well being myself.  Only because that’s what I do. I’m not anti-semitic, I have compassion for all mankind. Combat Jack is for the people.
