They say 50 is washed up but cats still know to think twice before talking greasy about Curtis lol.
Not feeling the album as many are but the brothers do come off smart and cool in their interviews; I wish their lyrical content reflected that a lot more.
Great look on word association, CJ– always a fun game.

go listen to their previous albums/mixtapes… they def. “dumbed it down” a bit on TTCD.. but dont take them lightly… Pusha Top 5 for me.. i dont care what anyone says EGHCKKK
BIGPUN– I’ve listened to all the Clipse albums, and yeah, they’re clever/smart (a la Jay) but I meant complexity of character and narrative a la Biggie, Ghost, Rae. I understand they have a tight rope between art and commerce to walk but that still leaves me wishing they put out more; the brothers ain’t kids either so they surely have deeper/weirder stories to tell… Maybe I missed some genius on the mix-tapes, which is totally possible?
ok…you meant it that way. maybe, but I really dig the brothers sense of humor and comic side, plus as an example Nightmares, where they describe the paranoid/dark side of being a dealer, is just brilliant. They don’t have that complexity of character like Biggie and Ghost had, as they are not playing fictional characters but themselves kind of. Ghost has Tony Starks, Big was Biggie Smalls, Rae tells a story as well, these guys just tell their own story kind of…at least if I got it right what you meant.
I bought “TTCD”, It was Aight. It seem like these dudes were trying to make a more accessible album (ala “European Hov”). But it left me wanting more. Their first two albums + all the “Got it 4 Cheap” jawns were certified FIYAHHH.
Oh Yea, and SMH @ these dudes for being scared of 50….

When are we getting the full interview, Jack? Hope it’s more satisfying than this little snippet with the word game. They just didn’t seem to be playing along well enough…it WAS kinda awkward–not necessarily your fault, though. Peace…
cool concept, but way too PC. U suppose to answer with a word immediately, not think it over, making sure u dont mess up. I think clipse are cool ass dudes though, but they’re not lyrical at all

“BISD” >>>>>>>>>>>> “TTCD”, tho’ granted, 50 isn’t revealing layers there either.
^Actually, if you would listen to the lyrics, you would realize their smarts. Thornton brothers are brilliant…salute to CJ for the word association!
