The Beef Is Over…

Last year me and Peter Rosenberg, dj and radio personality for the morning show of legendary New York Hip Hop radio station Hot 97 got into a lil beef. Twitter was used as a sharp sword, and we gave the Internets a show. After the smoke cleared I still threw shots his way, every now and then, just to let him know.
Things died down, we started a new year, a new decade. We kept it moving. A couple of weeks ago, I got a direct message from Peter himself, basically inquiring as to when were we going to sit down and break bread. Surprised by his gesture, him putting himself out there like that, I responded in like manner. Since I never actually met dude, I never had anything personally against him, so I figured us having diplomatic dialogue was the natural way to go. This past Wednesday we did meet, at the Hot 97 station, and he recorded our convo for podcast purposes. Me and my friends over at iHipHop videotaped it. Shit was cool, we cleared the air, agreed on a lotta shit, disagreed on some as well. In the end everything was cool.
Not saying we’re the best of friends, but I gotta say I respect dude for reaching out. He didn’t have to. We even laughed at how I might come after him again, if I had to. But all of that is for a different day.

When i first read all that twitter beef a couple months ago, I was like “damn, this dude is wack as shit.” He’s a lot less that way when he’s just talking, face-to-face like that.
Also, that dude you brought with you is a BEAST.
CJ (shouts to grove street) looks real relaxed from the beginning, funny watching Pete’s closed body language in the beginning and then you cats chop it up and he relaxes.

Gotta say Rosenberg is still a fucking load and I could only listen to about 20 minutes of the podcast before deleting it forever.
I totally dig listening to CJ but Rosenberg is NOT very bright, is he? A white sycophant with a dogshit sense of humor who was bawling when Michael died but doesn’t know enough about Sharpton to criticize him for the REALLY bad shit he pulled (starting with trying to ban Ralph Bakshi’s “Coonskin” sight unseen) nor recognize the importance of the good/stand up things Fat Al does.
Also, you can tell CJ is a THOUGHTFUL dude– lawyer + chess shows and Rosenberg ain’t on that level and moreover, doesn’t seem realize there ARE other levels.
Still, better to have done it than not done it and, in the end, Rosenberg ain’t even worth the time. Better to simply IGNORE him since he obviously thrives on attention.

Rosenberg actually acquitted himself well there. CJ came right too, but that wasn’t surprising. CJ never has come across like a self-impressed douche.
It is good that you were able to be the bigger man and hash things out in an adult and intelligent manner. But I have to know where did you find the 2010 version of Beast the bodyguard. lol!!!

Plus the fact that they had some old white guys (the owners) accepting the trophy on behalf of a team of largely black players didn’t make it sit any better with me at all.
