The Internets Bring Your Own Blogger BBQ Play By Play

So this past weekend, I think we, as in the Internets collective made history. We held our first annual BYOBBBQ (Bring Your Own Blogger BBQ) held by me and Dallas Penn and hosted by PNC Radio. No lies, shit was dope. The above pic is an actual shot of the view from the venue at night.
Since our sponsor connects dropped the ball, DP and I came fully out of pocket. DP covered liquor and I covered the food. Please give DP a round of applause for coming through with his special sneak up on you rum punch and iced tea.
We recruited 40 Diesel, p/k/a Drewpreme to man the grill. 40 started the day ready to cook for up to 200 people.
Chocolate Snowflake, Dallas’ better half, dug deep in the trenches with us for the set up. She made sure our spread had a woman’s touch. CS is the nicest person you will ever meet and has a heart of gold and roses:

After we set up, I went home and got fresh. Then I rolled through with my youngest son, Yung Sak Passe:

People started rolling through at 5 on the dot. By 6pm, we had a decent sized crowd. My main worry though, was that at point, it was mainly dudes, and a sausage fest [||] was not on the itinerary:

Right before I was ready to cast off you Internets as being straight geek dudes holed up in they mom’s basement, a gang of like 10 chicks came through en masse to soften up the hardleg fest, and real fast too. Then, the chicks kept on coming, balancing out the female to male ratio (for the win!!!)

We had some herbalists in the house, doing what true herbalists do:

Then, just like that, the place got packed. We were legally only able to house safely approximately 200 people, shit got up to like 350:

Then, like 400:

Gotta thank the homie Marcus Troy for canceling his plans in Los Angeles to come to Brooklyn, New York to support the movement:

Right then and there, the King Hip Hop Internets top dog Eskay rolled through. With Nah Right in the house, we knew the rest of the evening was going to roll on as smooth as butters:

Deejays RPM and Gudtyme kilt the 1’s and 2’s:

As DJ J.Period and DP plotted on future endeavors:

The Queen Internets, Miss Info rolled through and everyone tried to get her attention. We got a chance to talk briefly as she said some very nice words about our movement:

Super legendary emcee Craig G. blessed us with an appearance and took a pic with Yung Sak Passe:

Alas, I had to send Yung Sak Passe home as it was getting late and time for me to meet and greet more guests:

Like Marvelous Mo and Meka from 2 Dope Boyz:

Joe from Dollar Van Demos:

Yves Darbouze from pLot Multimedia and his beautiful wife:

Dara Taherpour from Sub Con Threads:

The O.G. Big Ced (with Lamont Ball):

Dre from Nah Right, as he built with Big Ced and Eskay:

Urkel Bot from Bar Exam Radio:

The ever lovely TeLisa D and the god A-King from PNC Radio:

Alex Norman, the jefe who runs PNC Radio:

Wifey was in the house, but I swear I wasn’t wifin in the club (no $20 dollars):

After 40 fed most of us, he cleaned up real good and entertained the ladies as he held court in the “V.I.P.” section:

As I built some more with the Big Money Internets (shouts to Louis Colon of Kixclusive and New Balance):

There were many other guests that dropped by, including General Steele from the Boot Camp Click and the infamous Charles Hamilton who was being, well, Charles Hamilton.
As the crowd started to thin, and as DP and I were headed out, we spotted the BONUS. Rapper Wordspit’s deejay thought the rum punch tasted way too much like candy and decided not to heed our warnings of caution. As he went deep in [||] with his liquor intake, his liquor intake decided it would go deep up in him [||]:

Being the good dudes that we are, we tried to talk him through it, you know, walk him through it:

But you know how gravity tends to work with liquor, whatever goes down, must come up:

I did warn everyone before the event that I would take all pics and use them at my discretion, including all money shots. Good looking out for these gems my dude, you’re a true Internets soldier:

What’s a good party without a wipe out? My only complaint is that I didn’t have a chance to meet and poly with EVERYONE that showed up. What an incredible effin event. To each and every one of youse, even the one’s that couldn’t make it and the out of towners. THANK YOU!!!
The Internets already buzzing about an end of the Summer joint. Hmmm.

Some footage by the homie Chris.
Dallas Penn’s take on the event.
UPDATE: I finally made the front cover of Nah Right (not Nah Right Lite). FTW!
damn looks like yall had a helluva time, wish ida been there but im stuck up in london.
damn thats hella people.
talk about having teh internets on lock
The Byob bbq was so serious and here we have Combat jack teasing us with a chance of a end of summer joint. That shit was free and would have been well worth a paid admission!
I was going to avoid this post on some “don’t check the winning numbers if you ain’t buy a ticket”, but curiosity is a bitch.
Now that I’ve gone through all the pics, I think I’m gonna go punch a wall now.
Props on a successful night man, truly glad to hear all went well. Unfortunately, duty called as I couldn’t take tight out as expected, I will definitely be at the ‘end of summer’ event so please make sure that happens. I’ll be sure to avoid the death punch as well.

Man I KNEW I shoulda hit the Bolt Bus! Looked like a bangout time.
CJ and DP single-handedly destroy the myth of bloggers being anti-social, no-chick-getting geeks. Damn, I shoulda come back for this but I only just left 2 weeks ago! You know this has to now be a mandatory annual event with artists performing and the whole nine, right? F-ck it, might have to turn it into a full weekend by time you’re done with it! Great work, Reggie (and Dallas).
Due to my house arrest, I couldn’t make it but would of definitely hit this up.
Dallas’ shirt > whatever you got on
Pause
We had a wonderful time with all the kind folks you assembled. Great party, great people & great venue! Let’s do it again real soon!
Word Is Bawn! To crash & burn directly under the DEAD END sign = golden. Looks like a great time…Yall give a fair warning shot, & I promise I’ll fly in for the next one!
Nice! © Borat
Leave it up to me to stay one of the bloggers that holds up the stereotype of being antisocial bastards holed up in our cribs constantly poring the internets for information that could one day aid in the furthering of their plans for a future silent global takeover. LOL
One.
I think that first picture of Drew up top needs to be made into the logo of the BYOBBBQ. Good times were had! When you said annual, you meant once a month right?
Event was dope….glad to have been part of it…LOL my dude @ the end who was puking is fine now.
BBQ was dope son, Please do it again soon…. There were actual live womenfolk in there!!…haha..
Respect.
Shit has become cliche on the web but if you idn’t fux with this event – Kill Yo’Self! Shit was mega super official on the low low.
What should the next move be internets?
*sobs like a toddler who lost his Ben-10 action figure*

Got caught out of town unexpectedly but looks like a winner, props to DP, CJ and fam. I’ve gotta recent–ish Tek mixtape in the car I’ll spin in ya’ll’s owner.
Next move, small: pre-Black Moon and Smif N Wessun something at Brower Park whenever that is…
Next move, large: The Internets BEACH PARTY? Where? Rockaway. (Who all here is old enough they went to Playland as kids?)
Coney would be OK also and make it easier for folks without cars to swing through but the Rock is otherwise better/weirder/more epic. Orchard Beach is a distant third but would be interesting.
So we’ll silhouette the picture with the spatula and freak it like the MLB logo… lol
Thanks again to everyone who came out. Thanks to everyone who enjoyed themselves and the food. Sorry to all of those I couldn’t fully catch up with since I was cooking up a storm. Thanks to Combat & Dallas for having the benevolence aforethought to have this function.
No late passes for the non-believers…
A mild HRUMPH to you dietary restriction ass nackas… LOL. Its a BBQ! Its ALL MEAT!!!
meant to type HONOR, note to self not to post without without two morning COFFEEs first.
When I was young(er) and dumb(er) I made that rum punch mistake with Long Island Iced Teas, which swill I shouldn’t have been drinking in the first place. It sure was a lot easier to wreck yourself without posterity in the pre-digital era, hah.

[...] Wow, two Hip Hop related posts in a row, what is this? SitDownStandUp.com? This weekend Reggie and Dallas put on the already legendary Bring Your Own Blog BBQ in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Urkelbot took a bunch of footage, see below, and check out the recap and photos over Daily-Math.com. [...]
LOL @ 40 Diesel Drewpreme “dietary restrictions”!
Okay so how about BYOBB BBQ/Fish Fry 1.5 Summer Ends Edition? LOL
Yo, I’m still recovering! Word to Dallas P, anyone who missed it who didn’t have a valid reason, your gonna pay a surcharge for the next one!

Seems like a ball was had by all [II] Might have to make a trek up to NY and catch the next one… by then, I won’t be a rookie anymore, haha
-D!
Damn, homey… that joint was bangin. Like the kinda place I woulda rolled through, sporting a backwards A-town fitted, pullin on a blunt. I was about to say it looked like the parties I used to throw in college, minus the token drunk dude vomiting on the doorstep…then I saw the token drunk dude vomiting on the doorstep. Nothing better reminds folk to curtail getting stupid drunk like a dude painting his shoes with projectile Kool-Aid. DP, holla…
